Students and Families
In an effort to increase academic preparation, access and affordability for first-generation, low-income, underrepresented and underserved students from rural and inner-city communities, we offer outreach and campus-based engagement opportunities for students from partner schools and programs throughout the Commonwealth. Programs for students are designed according to partner schools’ and students’ needs, but can include small- and large-scale programs such as admissions presentations, campus tours, leadership development sessions and experiential activities with our academic colleges.
Recognizing that families play a pivotal role in a student’s college trajectory, we offer a variety of programs that encourages involvement and student support throughout the college process. Offered in tandem with student programs, families have the opportunity to participate in parents-as-partners workshops that address topics such as exploring college options and the application process, funding a college education, and supporting the transition from high school to college.
